Biography
Her professional commitment to animation began when she was given the chance to work as a preproduction and storyboard artist at a 2D animation company, Seoul Movie in Seoul, Korea. As part of a small team she was able to expand her area works from writing short stories to all preproduction works such as character and environment design, digital painting, color keys and storyboarding. Working as an art director at Seoul Movie and working as an independent designer and illustrator for other studios she had the opportunity to work for fabulous TV shows, OVA and animated features sharpening drawing and painting skills. Some of the motion pictures she has since been involved in are the animated feature film, Toy Warrior; the TV shows, Special Rescue Party 119 (broadcast on KBS, Korea and NHK, Japan), Bastof Lemon (broadcast on SBS, Korea) and Warner Bros¡¯ Batman Beyond (broadcast on HBO)
After gaining 2D animation experience, she moved to New York, in the Fall of 2004. Majoring in 3D animation in MFA Computer Art program at the School of Visual Arts, she produced an award winning 3D short film, The Space Burger, 2007 showing her unique cute, humorous but quirky, twisted visuals and the story.
Choi is continuing her career as a concept artist as well as 3D artist in animation, game, and commercial field in New York City.
